Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup brown butter, cooled
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
For the frosting:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup browned butter, cooled
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, cooled brown butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, being careful not to over-mix. Just combine until you see no more flour.
- Carefully fold in the chopped pecans for a nice crunch.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for approximately 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the bread bakes, prepare the frosting by beating together the cream cheese, cooled browned butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Allow the banana bread to cool completely before spreading the frosting on top.
