Description

A rich and moist banana bread infused with brown butter and toasted pecans, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup brown butter, cooled
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

For the frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup browned butter, cooled
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, cooled brown butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour.
  4. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, being careful not to over-mix. Just combine until you see no more flour.
  5. Carefully fold in the chopped pecans for a nice crunch.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for approximately 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. While the bread bakes, prepare the frosting by beating together the cream cheese, cooled browned butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  9. Allow the banana bread to cool completely before spreading the frosting on top.
  10. Slice and enjoy your delicious creation!

Notes

Serve with a dollop of cream cheese frosting or a drizzle of honey. Pairs well with coffee or herbal tea.
