Description
A delicious and healthy air fryer falafel recipe that’s crispy, savory, and packed with protein and fiber.
Ingredients
- 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Blend until you achieve a coarse mixture.
- Form the blended mixture into small balls or patties, ensuring they’re compact so they hold together during cooking.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly spray the falafel with olive oil and arrange them in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot with pita bread, a drizzle of tahini sauce, or tossed into a vibrant salad.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze uncooked balls and cook from frozen.
