Description

A delicious and healthy air fryer falafel recipe that’s crispy, savory, and packed with protein and fiber.

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Blend until you achieve a coarse mixture.
  2. Form the blended mixture into small balls or patties, ensuring they’re compact so they hold together during cooking.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Lightly spray the falafel with olive oil and arrange them in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd.
  5. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve hot with pita bread, a drizzle of tahini sauce, or tossed into a vibrant salad.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. For longer storage, freeze uncooked balls and cook from frozen.
