Delightfully crispy mini blooming onions, perfect for snacking or serving at gatherings.
Ingredients
- Mini onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 cup milk or buttermilk
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- Oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Carefully peel and trim the mini onions.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Dip each onion in milk, letting excess drip off before coating in the flour mixture.
- Roll each onion in bread crumbs until fully covered.
- Lightly spray onions with oil.
- Place onions in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Serve hot and crispy!
Notes
For extra crunch, double-dip the onions and use panko bread crumbs for the coating.
