- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Prep the apples: Peel (if desired) and cut apples into fry-like sticks, then pat dry with a paper towel.
- Set up coating stations: In three bowls, prepare the coating stations – flour in the first, whisked egg and milk in the second, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with sugar and cinnamon in the third.
- Coat the apple sticks: Dredge each apple stick in flour, dip in egg mixture, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring each piece is well-covered.
- Air fry: Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick cooking spray and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook: Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Notes
For serving, drizzle with caramel dip or top with yogurt or whipped cream. Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days, reheat in the air fryer for best results.
