A warm, comforting, and cheesy casserole made with ground beef, tender potatoes, and creamy mushroom soup, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground hamburger
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground hamburger until nicely browned. Drain excess fat.
- Lightly grease a baking dish and layer half of sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Spread the cooked hamburger over the potatoes.
- Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the meat, covering the layers.
- Add the remaining sliced potatoes on top and season with salt and pepper.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or bell peppers to the hamburger. You can substitute cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken or use homemade white sauce.
